Project Title: The TREE of life, an Earth Day Celebration

The participant class will send one TREE made of recyclable objects only (preferable of a shoe box size), shipped via standard mail to our school in Virginia, U.S.A. to be exposed in a school wide Earth Day Celebration on April 23,2004

Full Project Description:
The TREE of life is for students and teachers alike who are interested in participating in a world-wide classroom project. The participant class will send one TREE made of recyclable objects only (preferable of a shoe box size), shipped via standard mail to our school in Virginia, U.S.A. to be exposed in a school wide Earth Day Celebration on April 23,2004. There will be an AWARD for "Participation" and a medal will be given to each tree.  After the ceremony we will ship the medal to the tree's original classroom! We would also like, if possible, a picture of the completed project with the class that created it to be sent to the included e-mail address.  We will share details and information of all trees sent to us so we can all benefit from participating.

Objectives:
The children involved in the project will learn how in a big world we all have the same focus and ideas when it comes to Mother Nature.  We are "A World Apart but IN a World Together ...and we all need to take care of it."

Escola de Chantilly, Virginia USA, quer que as crianças envolvidas no projeto aprendam como em um mundo tão grande, nós todos temos o mesmos focos e idéias quando pensamos em cuidar da natureza. Num mundo colaborativo, apesar das distâncias estamos juntos na hora de cuidarmos dele.
Inscrições: de janeiro até 31 de março de 2004
Atividades do projeto: de 1 de março até 10 de abril de 2004

Objetivos: A classe participante enviará uma ÁRVORE feita de objetos recicláveis (preferível no máximo do tamanho de uma caixa da sapato), enviado através do correio padrão até a escola coordenadora nos USA,  para ser exposta em uma celebração do dia da terra na escola em 23 de abril de 2004. Uma medalha será enviada para cada cada árvore. Após o ceremonia nós enviaremos a medalha à escola/classe que criou a árvore! Nós gostaríamos também, se possível, de uma foto do projeto terminado com a classe que o criou, enviada por e-mail para nossa coordenação.
