Dia Mundial do Meio Ambiente

(Projeto KIDLINK)

We are planning to start a project with our 14-year-old students. The
project consists in creating the students' own web page, as a group,
including information closely related to them, apart from introducing
themselves and their environment. We need partners around the world who
would be interested in carrying on a similar project so that we all
can benefit from one another's work.
  Please contact me for details.

Name: Petra Maywald
Institution: secondary school (secondary)
Location: Germany
Summary: ecological footprint

Other Comments:
---------------
  Dear Colleagues,

We are looking for  partners who would like to do an e-mail project
with our school (Secondary School 5th to 10th grades). We thought of
working on a subject which we called “the ecological footprint”.
Students should find out about the size of their country and hometown,
the consumption of energy and water, the daily expenses for food and
the cost of living ( monthly expenses for clothes, apartment,
transport etc.) In a second step they compare and evaluate the data.
We are mainly interested in a school from an other continent than
Europe. Our students ( a group of 25 boys) are in 9th grade. The
teachers of Chemistry, English and Geography would like to take part
in the project for four weeks in February 2001. If you are interested
in our idea please write back soon  so that we can work out further
details. Our school is in Regensburg, Bavaria.

We are looking forward to getting an answer from you

Petra Maywald (Chemistry) and Karin Kobler (Englisch)

PS. All e-mail texts will be evaluated anonymously by the University
of Karlsruhe for a research work on e-mail-projects.
